1. MANDATORY BACKGROUND CHECKS

Background checks are a yearly requirement for any adult who has contact with the players, which includes:

• Managers and coaches
  
• Team parent
• Umpires (including visiting District umpires)
• Scorekeepers and pitch-counters
• Board Members
• Any adult who assists with a practice or other team event - even if only once

This background check process will occur automatically by the league officials when you submit your volunteer application on our website.

Please watch for an email from JDP to ask for some additional personal information required to complete the background check.

2. MANDATORY CDC CONCUSSION TRAINING

CDC Concussion Training is mandatory for all youth sports, but it only needs to be completed once in your life.

Click “Launch the Heads-Up Course” on right and follow the prompts to complete the training.

A copy of the completion certificate must be UPLOADED* to your account and must be in the Manager/Coaches binder. Save a digital copy in the event you need to re-print it again since it is good for life. If you don't meet this requirement, the umpire or the site administrator may remove you from the dugout.

If you have already completed this training, please upload a copy to your account and provide a copy of the certificate to your team’s manager. You can access a previously earned certificate by logging in through the link above.

3. SAFE SPORT ABUSE TRAINING

Safe Sport Abuse Training is mandatory for all youth sports, and is a yearly requirement.

Safe Sport Abuse Awareness Training is offered through USA Baseball

1) Click here to visit and login to the USA Baseball Website : USA Baseball Course Listing You must create an account with USA Baseball if you are not already registered.

2) Once logged in, find the course titled "Abuse Awareness for Adults". Click on the course in the course listing.

3) Click "+ Enroll" to enroll in the course.

4) The "+ Enroll" button will change to say "Go to Course". Click on the "Go to Course" button to launch the course content

5) Complete the course. Take the Final 10 Question Test after completing all course material.You must recieve 8/10 questions correct (80%) to pass the test and complete the course

6) After passing the exam, return to your USA Baseball "My Account" Page. Click on "Courses" on the left

7) Find the "Download Certificate" button to download your certificate of completion. 

A copy of the completion certificate must be UPLOADED* to your account and must be in the Manager/Coaches binder. Save and retain a copy of this certificate.

4. SUDDEN CARDIAC ARREST TRAINING

Sudden Cardiac Arrest Training is mandatory for all youth sports. It needs to be completed once in your life.

Select your state and click “Order Course”; follow the prompts to create an account and to “purchase” the training (for $0, no payment information will be collected).

A copy of the completion certificate must be UPLOADED* to your account and must be in the Manager/Coaches binder.
